Macro Photography lets you get close to the familiar and present it in a new manner that people aren’t used to seeing.
Macro Photography is an increasingly popular form of photography and with good reason. It is accessible and is a very broad genre of photography, offering something for just about any level of photographer from the seasoned pro to the novice beginner. If you have ever wanted to get “up close and personal” to your photography subject, macro photography might just be for you. The Intro to Macro Photography Workshop is held at our studio in San Jose, and is perfect for those who have a grasp of photography basics, and are ready to take their skill to a new level.
Topics covered in this workshop:
- What defines macro photography
- Review of equipment
- Setting up the perfect macro shot
- Finding subject matter to photograph
- Post-processing your photographs using Adobe Lightroom® CC
This is a 6-hour workshop that includes on-location photography with select subject matter as well as post-processing of your images in our classroom. Each student will need to bring their own computer with Adobe Lightroom® CC installed to learn how to edit their photos to get the best results possible.
- 9:00am-9:30am: Orientation and setup
- 9:30am-12:00pm: Shooting
- 12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch break
- 1:00pm-3:00pm: Post-Processing
We will begin with a 30 minute presentation to introduce students to basic macro photography concepts and camera settings that will be used during the studio shoot with our subjects. There will be photography stations set up to give students a wide variety of macro opportunities.
After lunch, we will come back to the studio to review images and your instructors will use Adobe Lightroom® to show you how to enhance and edit your photos to make them really stand out! We will cover topics such as image selection, to crop or not to crop, basic post-processing techniques, and preparing the file for print.
This class is perfect for those who are looking for a new photography challenge, and who want to learn a new way of “seeing” the world around them.
